    Priority Areas

    1. Water.

Every individual is entitled by constitution to have safe drinking water within a reasonable distance from home. How to provide? Drilling of ground wells, proper knowledge based and environmentally friendly harvesting of rain water for storage on ground cooler tanks.

Human beings will never ever share drinking water with animals as is the case today in Laikipia North. Provision of clean water will promote public hygiene standards and prevention of waterborne disease.

Children shall not miss school because they have to help their families in fetching water. Such terrible inequalities must end.

    2. Electricity

The entire Laikipia North Constituency does not have electricity. For all these years, not a single leader has been able to convince the government that the people of Laikipia North needs electricity. Recently, electricity cables and water pipes were installed from Nanyuki Town at the foot of Mt. Kenya, to a bridge that separates Nanyuki and  Laikipia Maasailand. The road was tarmacked to the very same bridge. The sand that is used in

those projects comes from Laikipia North. It is used to build other cities in our country, but never ours. The community development funds is never enough to finance any kind of project for the Laikipia North region.

A community can not be fully functional without electricity. For example, Laikipia North produces a lot of skin and hide which must be transferred to Nanyuki to be processed into finished products. The shoes or leather jackets are then sold at a ten times higher price back to us. A parent has to sell a goat with its skin to buy a pair of leather moccasins for a school going child. The child goes to a school which lacks electricity and performs poorly.

Such a trade will continue to pull us back, makes as dependent to a very unfair game for as long as we don’t have a turning industry in our region. People, we can not run a leather industry without electricity.

    3. Education

Every location must have a main primary and Secondary school with both boarding and daycare facilities. Teachers must be provided for all the subjects covered in the syllabus. School routine  supervision must be made effective to

    curb mismanagement of schools.

Every school must have a fully equipped library. Every location shall also have a community library as a measure to bring books closer to the people and increase book culture.

    4. Jobs

Work is the basis of prosperity! The constituency must create jobs and encourage people to venture into business. I belief that cattle keeping in large scale is not sustainable any longer in LN. We have t o adjust so that we survive the changes. The new administration shall first and foremost prioritize regional workers with required competence before giving jobs to citizens from other constituencies. This quota system must be applied until such a time when the people of Laikipia North are at per with the rest of the fellow countrymen. So many best brains from our constituency ended up in the Kenyan armed forces and police. I have nothing against these forces, but I only hoped that they considered such brilliant students and gave them every opportunity to study further. Instead, the best of our best becomes suppressed with monotonous duties until they forget their initial ambitions for higher studies. Who will work in our administ

ration if we continue to send some of our best brains to the armed forces? That is why I want to see immediate reforms in the forces as a measure to increase opportunities for all individuals to learn and advance themselves in their diverse areas of interest.

    5. Health care

Health care facilities shall be provided as a priority. Maternal child health care services should be guaranteed for all individual. Government to provide health workers for all the facilities.Traditional birth attendance in the villages to be continuously trained and provided with modern equipment to protect them from any possible infection in the situation where they provide midwifery services in the village.

    6. Roads

The Kipsing-Dol-dol-Nanyuki roads, The Sukuta- Ormarmar-Kimanjo-Nanyuki Roads to be tarmacked (Check map)

    7. Security

Insecurity in Laikipia North must be taken very seriously. police stationsshall be provided for every

location fully equipped with personnel and means of transport, communication gadgets and required weaponry. Cattle rustling should be faced out by providing jobs to the idle youth who ends up engaging in such banditry due to poverty. Banditry is sure to end when such inequalities are eliminated.

    8. Food security.

    9. Community housing
