    December 09, 2009

    From NTV.

http://www.ntv.co.ke Could the Mau evictions controversy be having an effect on thousands of squatters whose refuge for two decades on a farm owned by former President Daniel Arap Moi has now been ended? Just days after forestry minister Dr. Noah Wekesa fell short of exonerating the former head of State from claims that he was a beneficiary of the mau forest excisions, the Government has moved to evict more than 3,000 squatters occupying the 17,000 acre farm in Laikipia East District. Sources indicate that Moi intends to cash in on the land.
