This report is from the Nov. 15th attacks in Isiolo. (Ten die in northern Kenya in an intertribal conflict.)
Area MP Kuti threatens to quit if insecurity persists. He accuses Internal security minister Saitoti for inaction which has led to the death of many Kenyans in Samburu as well as the lose of property worth millions. However, Kuti is also blaming two ethnic groups for causing chaos even after the rains.
For the last 10 months, killings in areas of North western Kenya, normally referred as Samburu, have been reported where alarming human suffering have been documented. Similarly, Samburu population are also putting their blame on the government for not protecting them.
It is significant to note that Samburu people were disarmed by the government of Kenya in 2006 and since then, they have fallen a prey to the fully armed ethnic groups bordering them.
It is believed that, the Samburu disarmament was a very risky and dangerous security strategic failure by the GOK which must be rectified as soon as possible to prevent further human degradation in North western Kenya.
Kenyans have been suggesting that all ethnic groups must be disarmed with immediate effect, while deploying a national security force to the borders and install security posts in all regional centers all over Kenya. Citizens should not have to be used to play police.
