Saitoti: We cannot disarm one community and arm another one!
Posted on November 22, 2009 by Saidimu Ole ngais
Listen to what Saitoti says in the video. Make your own conclusion about the ongoing Samburu massacre.
Many are shying off from calling the systematic killing of Samburu indigenous people for what it truly is, genocide on its gradual development.
The more we continue to deny reality about Samburu killings, the more the blame will entirely engulf us all. History will judge us all very harshly. Those killed women had no weapons, defense nor rights!
Their area MP is their only defender, their minister for internal security is their refuge, they look upon their President and Prime minister for security but still, they perish while we all hide ourselves in our little cities and follow their deaths on FB and other media.
The Samburu widow who was shot dead, the child who survived the killer’s bullet unlike her mum, kept hold of her dead mothers breast, the only place that she knew to be safe enough but not any more. The murderer’s bullet took her mother’s life! The harsh reality is the killer is as equally a victim of bad governance and injustice as the dead mother or the orphaned baby. No one would envy another man’s property if resources are justly shared. As Saitoti says, to be able to solve the problem once and for all, we must address the root cause of it. Land is the problem, inequality in sharing of national resources and inequality in political representation. Mr. Saitoti, give me your strategies on how you will approach the above inequalities. Somali’s do not have to raid Samburu, neither do Borana, Turkana, Pokot if they had their livelihood and other necessities in abundance.
Why should I steal another man’s cow when I have 100 of mine? We must take the suffering of our people very personal! Oh yes, very personal!
This is my area of expertise! To safeguard that, that is naturally and rightfully mine! The rights to life, liberty and descent life! This is every human beings duty, to ensure that you participate in demanding your fundamental rights from the authority from-which we have entitled the licence to work on our behalf, to protect our lives! We cannot shy away no more.
With this weight upon our shoulders, we continue to call upon SAPA’s, area MP.s, internal security ministers and assistant minister, local political and administrative leaders, NGO.s, and CBO.s, including all media channels to strongly condemn the Samburu killings with immediate effect.
That is not enough though, I personally take this opportunity, to call upon Hon. Saitoti and his assistant internal security minister, to summon, ALL leaders of the affected areas for an emergency security meeting without any delay.
Let no one be deceived, that any human right champion is going to stop as long as there are systematic injustices facing our people.
Aluta Continua!
Saidimu Ole Ngais.

Saidimu I can’t agree with you more… you are on point and will be putting my thoughts down too…. Personally I will not sit back as this injustices continue… if everyone says that then we something will happen.
We are using the media and currently working closely with the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights to document the happenings. They are actually still in Laikipia. Let us all ask ourselves what can I do?????
Otherwise, just crying about it won’t really help…lets come together and brain storm on what we can do.. SAPA is working on starting with Laikipia in a week’s time.
We will be visiting the area, listening to people and documenting the information collected. Turkana’s and Pokots on board too on this particular trip. We can’t on our own and I also urge everyone in whichever way they can to do what they ought to do….
I can confidently say some politicians are keen on this issue and really offering support interestingly not our elected members of parliament!!!!! Surely, this leaves a lot to be desired!!!! where are they??? Yeah, am sure we will know where they are come 2011/2012…
Our own should be shouting the loudest to say NO STOP THE KILLINGS!!!! but that is not happening!!!! Anyway, will put down more sometime soon.
My heart goes out to us all who have been affected directly or indirectly and to those who carry this burden for the sake of the masses of innocent people suffering on the ground!!!! May GOD help Kenya!!!!!
Thanks Naisula for participating in this forum. We need more support from all of us, peace loving dynamic Kenyans. I am very optimistic that SAPA can really make a great impact on the attitude of our people and those who are supposed to represent us. We can ensure that we vote in the right people next time.
We all have extended families therefore, it is very easy to network and stop the names of those docile leaders from appearing on the ballot box next time.
Yes, we have clans, and that is positive too, we can use the power of our diversity for the greater good! Ask the clan from which the docile minister comes originates if they are benefiting from his silence on Samburu killings.
If the answer is negative, then of course they will want to to vote in a person who will fight for their rights as citizens of Kenya.
If the Samburu themselves don’t call the attacks on their own people for what it is, then no one else will do it.
I appreciate the fact that Kenyans are realizing that there is a small minority but powerful Mafia like group who normally knows how to manipulate the greater majority to fight each other for reasons best known by the Mafia.
These parasites are so dangerous, that they eat up the host so fast, before they jump onto the other one to continue sacking business…
What else do you call leaders who have the mandate to stop the killing of the Nkolia and children and other systematic killings in Samburu but they choose to enjoy their personal liberties in Nairobi, instead of doing what they were elected to do?
What better name can you give to your own leaders who watch silently and passively as the system starves to death an entire ethnic group since independence?
I fail all the time to convince my Conscience to use other names on these type of political representatives from those affected areas other than Parasitic Mafia, not worth to have their names mentioned ever, anywhere in the entire nation.
Who can help me out?
However, I want to give my moral support to a one lady leader, Maison!
I hear all Lorokuchu and many more, are also behind Maison, the Mother leader! Yes, that is the type of leader Sambururu needs. We also need honest voters, why should we have a Minister who betrays his people when they need him the most?
When shall we be brave enough or stupid enough to face the truth and stop these kind of selfish leaders?
Maybe there is another one from Samburu/Laikipia North who is doing a good job? They also deserve to be supported.
At least there is a mother, a woman of course, who feels for her children! I am hopeful now! Where will we be if it were not for the Maa women?
Surely, this is our time!
