Reports that Archers Post and Samburu East Remain calm both Yesterday and today
Posted on November 17, 2009 by Saidimu Ole ngais
The report below is from Mike Rainy.
I have Just spoken with Samburu friends who visited Archers Post this evening who report that things are calm and quiet there, There was no Government action against Samburu in Samburu East up to this point in time which is a great relief to hear, Isiolo was bad yesterday. I have confirmed this from four different independent sources including one who drove through Isiolo town Yesterday Afternoon.
Interestingly it is also reported that the Minister from Isiolo North Mohamed Kuti is now afraid to even set foot in Isiolo for fear of being attacked for his efforts to agitate and set members of the different communities against one another. His press conferences have been held in a hall one the edge of town. He seems to have called a lot of negative attention to himself.
Let us hope that people are beginning to tire of stage managed effort to stage manage violent attacks between members of different ethnic groups.
Rain and Peace can take a long time to come but when they do the dry land turns green and people can start to hope and smile once again.
Let us hope that the days of peaceful rain continue long enough to get some much needed healing done.
It is raining for the second time today here at home in central Kajiado. and there are many reports of good rain from many places now in Kenya.
