We learnt a lot from Obama fund raising techniques. That yes we can. We are required to be consistent and practical. How much can we achieve with what we have?
We are tackling one problem at a time. We will talk less and put more of our energy into action. So far, we have 8 individuals benefiting from our Support parties.
We pay their school fees and we open small retail/kiosks so women and youth can gradually participate as agents of change and not victims.
With our solidarity, they will be able to work and provide for themselves. Single parent and their children, families devastated by HIV/AIDS, women from broken families are, despite this dejection very strong links in the process of change.
It might be little, but in 50 years time, if every support party we arrange generates the same amount as it did in our June 2008 party, then we will be able to have directly reduced poverty and control ignorance amongst more than 300.000 individuals.
Inviting our friends to eat with us the food we cook 4 times a year, and pay 150 kronor for entrance, will generate a result that will be felt even here in Diaspora.
Every support party will aim at sponsoring 8 individuals and we will be having 3-4 fund raising parties per year.
For us, good politics is participating in practical community building and at the end of every day, scrutinize your actions to see if you can better them the following day.
Our desire is to have a healthy decent society
Please join us in solidarity with those who are systematically marginalized.
